Question: How do I access a network printer?
Answer: If there’s a network printer in your department from which you need to print but don’t have access, AIT is able to set this up for you.

Typically, AIT remedies this situation by creating an icon on your computer’s desktop that, when double-clicked, will connect you to that printer. Simply send an email to aithelp@indiana.edu with your username and
the name of the computer you are using, and AIT staff will set up the printer connection icon on your desktop.
Once you’ve double-clicked the icon and opened a connection to the printer, a window will appear containing the current print queue. The window may be closed, and from then on, you will be able to print to that printer as you would normally print to any other printer. After this initial connection is made, the printer should be automatically connected upon login, so using the icon will be unnecessary.
